Now, Bring Me That Horizon

So watch my chest heave
As this last breath leaves me
I am trying to be
What you're dying to see

To sing when you hurt
To sing when you cry
To sing when you live
To sing when you die

And here at the end
At the end of the hurt
All the pain ain't the same
When it's your turn to burn
We're the heart for the heartless,
The thoughts for the thoughtless,
The lies for the honest,
We're the gods of the godless!

Paradise Lost - Hollywood Undead

Well, here it goes. I've been wanting to put this together for a while, and I'm finally getting around to it. At 3 AM.

I guess the first order of business is to tell everybody a little bit about myself. My name's Chad. Hi, nice to meet you. I'm going to be a senior at Illinois State University in a couple of weeks. I love sports. Any kind of competition, really. I've been involved in some community theatre (I'm in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Eastlight Theatre right now. Come see it. We're open until August 10th.).

I write as often as I can, but not half as often as I should. That's part of why I'm starting this blog. Hopefully if anyone reading this likes what they're reading, I'll be held accountable for my writing.

I read a lot. Right now I'm working my way through the Malazan Book of the Fallen. I'm on book three of ten.

Here's the quick facts section: My favorite color is red. My favorite sports teams are as follows: Cubs, Bulls, Rams, Blackhawks. My favorite movie(s) is the Star Wars trilogy (The old ones. I like the new ones, but come on...can't beat the originals). I really like Shinedown and Boyce Avenue, as far as music goes. Hollywood Undead is pretty awesome, too.

Typhlosion is my favorite Pokemon. Shazam (Captain Marvel) is my favorite super hero. I don't know that I have a favorite author, but Jim Butcher and JK Rowling are both pretty awesome. I'll play any Madden game until the disk burns away.

So there you go...a little bit about me. I don't know exactly what's going to go into this blog, but if there's something you'd like me to talk about, go ahead and let me know in the comments. I'll do my best to talk about current events, writing, reading, music...anything, really.

Thanks for reading,

Chad

  1. Yay for new blogs! How's your novel going, by the way?

  2. It's coming along slowly. That's part of the reason that I started this. Hopefully having more than one writing outlet will help to get the juices flowing.

But yeah...I have a 43k words written. I'm aiming for somewhere around 100k, if my outline works out the way that I want it to.
